The 6th Asia OSS Symposium, taking place from the 6-8 September 2005, at the Hotel Trans Asia, Colombo, during the National Free and Open Source week 2005, which was declared by the Cabinet of the Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL).

At the symposium hosted by Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC), Japan and the Information and Communication Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), about 100 people participated at the Opening Ceremony with Honorable guests and Community leaders, and 60 people joined at the Round Table discussion.

Based on the Beijing Statement, CodeFest (http://www.asia-oss.org/wiki/codefest200509/) was hold as one of the Asia OSS Symposium event, and successfully done by software developers with their collaboration work.
